The Type Directors Club (TDC) hosted a special TDC Salon in New York on March 15 2012 under the theme "Engaging with the Middle East & Arabic Typography and Cultural Identity"; featuring lectures by Nadine Chahine (Linotype) and Tarek Atrissi (Tarek Atrissi Design).
Our first design workshop in Iraq took place in Erbil, as part of our commitment to bring advanced design education to less fortunate regions in the Arab World. The workshop is in collaboration with the Media Academy in Iraq and took place between 15 and 22 November 2011.
Tarek Atrissi presented a lecture at the type@cooper postgraduate typeface design program at the Cooper Union in New York. The talk took place on 13 July 2011 and focused on Arabic typeface design and the general challenges accompanying Arabic typography today.
A design seminar organized at USEK university (Université Saint-Esprit de Kaslik) in Lebanon and consisting of a public lecture and workshop on 4, 5, and 6 May 2011.
Arabictypography.com was present at the HSDA Annual Design Symposium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on April 17-20 2011, organized by the Dar Al-Hekma School of Design and Architecture. We launched our new website and conducted an Arabic lettering workshop at the event.
Upon invitation from Zayed University in the United Arab Emirates, Arabictypography.com conducted a series of workshops and lectures on Arabic graphic design between 5 and 10 March 2011.

Organized by Comedia in Switzerland since 1989, the 2010 edition of the prestigious “One Day Typography” took place this year on 30 October in Basel.
Organized by Nuqat foundation and hosted by GUST University in Kuwait during 26th and 28th October 2010. This second's edition of the design conference focused on the theme of "visual pollution".
The 7th Typography day in Munich. “Typotag Extended”, took place on 13, 15 and 15 October. The design conference focused on three themes: Social Media, Cross media and Virtual Media
